Sunny Summer Days

Hey folks,

Well I havent really been up to anything hugely exciting. The weather has been good so much of my time has been spent out in the sun (well it is a rarity in Scotland).

Anyways, I went for a wander to the top of the cliffs today (where it was cooking hot). There were some guys there setting up for a paragliding jump. I thought this would give me the opportunity to take quite a few pictures. Sadly, there really wasn’t much wind and the guy who jumped off the cliff fell fairly quickly- surprising he didn’t get injured or anything.

Following that, I went back to my grandparents and decided to take a few pictures of the birds there. I went to take a picture of the newly hatched baby quails but sadly they didnt turn out so well. I did manage to get one of the quails which I saw hatching back in May/June (which was a nice moment). According to my 5 year old cousin, one is named Cookie.

Had to go to work after this but hopefully, if the weather stays nice, I can get some more pictures taken.

Toodlepip!

Comedies and Driving Confusion

Well I haven’t posted a blog in over a week so I thought I’d do one now.

I had last weekend off from work so that was spent doing nothing basically.  Actually, that’s I lie- I watched quite a few films- Anchorman, Practical Magic, 13 Going On 30 and Gothica.  I also started watching Friends from all the way back at the beginning.

I was shopping on Monday and this guy came up to me asking me to review a pilot of a comedy show.  It was called “Dads” and I have to say, it wasn’t all that great.  There were a few famous faces I recognised (Mark from Friends- yes the one who caused the end of Rachael and Ross, Carol from Friends and Blanche from the Golden Girls).  It was just an average comedy about three divorced guys and their kids/deciding who was the better parent.  In a way, it reminded me of According To Jim but it was no where near as funny.  It was kind of goofy to be honest- the humour was “in your face”.  That would have been ok if there had been different levels of it (something subtle for adults, in your face for the kids) like what the creators of the Simpsons do.

I had a driving lesson this Thursday too- yes this was the day of the almost blistering heat.  I cant believe I only have 5 lessons to go until my test.  I dont know- I have this feeling that I will completely freak out about it big time.  Anyway, the lesson was spent parallel parking which I now seem to be getting the hang of.  You know, I think it would probably help if I had a big L written on my left hand and a big R on my right.

Apart from all this, I’ve been working.  I did promise myself that in between the times when I’m working that I would sit and brush up on both my java and my HTML.  Haven’t quite got round to doing that!

I will get round to it but for now, I think I need some sleep!
