Water, water everywhere…
Guess what I set up tonight?
My aquarium!!!
That is all (I can’t really say much else because I’m sitting here like a very, very excited child)
YAY FISH SOON!

Yikes, it’s been over a week since I made my last post!
I did have a small technical glitch earlier in the week where I couldn’t actually login in to WordPress. Why did this happen? Apparently there was a configuration error in my .htaccess file resulting in an internal server error every time I tried to login in. Well done eUK Host. Well done. They can’t blame me- I haven’t touched the .htaccess file since May 2007.
To get to the actual reason I’m posting, my 365 sky challenge seems to be working out pretty well. Doesn’t this wee grid look cool (imagine what 366 of these pics will look like)?
Along with Kevin, I have also decided to abandon the 365 challenge. Well part of it anyway.
I’m continuing with the 365 project involving the sky because I think the results will be very interesting. I think the pictures could make a great arty collage in the end. Who knows? We’ll just need to wait and see, after all, this is only day 10 of 366(!).
Why am I discontinuing the other half?
When I choose to take a picture of something, I prefer it to be spontaneous, for example I can go out for a walk and a particular view can just catch my eye or I see something that makes an interesting shape or angle. I was finding it difficult to find things to photograph with the 365 challenge and felt like I was just forcing myself to take pictures of meaningless objects (hence not enjoying it).
The sky project is different. The sky is never looks the same yet it is always there. It’s not difficult to find….ok sounds like I’m off on some philosophical rant…..
Anyway, check out my pictures so far
If you’re wondering what I’ve been upto the last few days (why I haven’t been on MSN and why I haven’t played Warcraft), the answer is that I’ve been coding a website.
The project is a golf website for uni. Unfortunatly, I’m not posting the link here because of confidentiality agreements and such- it’s only right the client sees it first. Have no fear, when the site goes live, I’ll link to it.
Anyway, whilst building the site, I was finding it difficult to position some elements, like placing text on top of images. Of course the alternative would be to simply make the text into an image however, that would be useless for users who are visually impaired (or using a screen reader for that matter).
How did I solve the problem? Well I finally got my head around relative and absolute positioning. It has made life so much easier and I’ve actually learnt something. Why the hell didn’t I try it before?
At the moment I’m just about to fix the tab menu at the top of the golf site. Following that, there are just one or two wee niggles to sort out
7.45am in the morning here and it’s snowing. Big yay!
Apparently, it was actually snowing at 4am. I was lying awake at that hour however I didn’t take a look until 5am. Lets hope for lots more. Snow equals nice pictures.
Oh and if you’re wondering why I’m up so early, I’m waiting on a delivery which may or may not even arrive.
Ok, that’s actually a lie. It’s really a 366 day challenge this year
What is this challenge? Haven’t you been paying attention? No? Click here if you want more info.
If you wish to view my pictures, they are on my Flickr account (which I only got a couple of weeks ago). You will notice there are 2 sets of pictures. One is a 365 challenge that will include anything I want to take a picture of. The other one is for pictures of the sky only (you know how I like pretty skies).
Oh, you may have noticed my sidebar has changed a little again? Look, there’s a Flickr button. It will take you to my account too.
Anyway, that’s my cue to disappear. We’re hosting a big family dinner here tonight and I have to get organised…yikes
First post of 2008. Woo.
I ended up seeing the bells in at my grandparents house with my family, playing “21″ and feeling roasting hot (many people in a small room….eek!).
