How to play rock, paper, scissors

I was having a discussion yesterday with someone and this particular scene from Friends came up in conversation.

I’m posting it here because I forgot just how funny it was :P

Dotaman

Ahh I’ve just been chatting to my sister, reminising about our childhood and the subject of Gaelic tv shows came up.

Does anyone remember Dotaman? I occassionally used to watch it, despite the fact I didn’t have a clue what was going on. It kinda of annoyed me a bit as well- as a kid I wondered why couldn’t they show cartoons in English instead? Just before Dotaman came on, they sometimes used to show The Animals of Farthing Wood but of course, I was really disappointed because I couldn’t understand it (then again, I think I saw all the English episodes anyway ;) ).

If you don’t know what Dotaman is/was go check it out

Oooh, ooh and remember the Gaelic news on channel 3? Feasgar mhath (pronounced Frisken Ma) :P

Download Day 2008

Ok, before I start, I’m not reffering to Download as in the music festival. Download Day 2008 is going to be the day in June when Firefox 3 is released (the date hasn’t been confirmed yet). Basically, Mozilla want to everyone to download Firefox 3 on this day in an attempt to make it into the Guniness Book of Records for the most software downloads in 24 hours.

Go make your pledge.

The Lemon Tree: Saved

All the way back in December, I made a post about the closure of the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen.

Good news everyone! It’s reopened. This morning I received mail from Aberdeen box office, informing me of all the events taking place and one of the venues listed was the Lemon Tree. Have to go there at some point :)

Some DIY Tips

1. A steamer boils water to produce steam. It is therefore advisable to avoid holding the end of the steamer above a lightswitch/plug. Steam is wet.

2. Do not use legs to apply steamer to wall while balancing on a chair, using your hands to change tune on your iPod. Steamers are hot.

3. Do not use knees to apply steamer to wall while you sit on a chair, scraping paper off the wall behind you. Remember, steamers are hot.

4. Do not balance steamer on skirting boards (just because you can) while you work on another part of the wall.

    Take care now! :D

    When DIY Goes Wrong…

    Ummm this says it all-

    hole in the wall

Yeah, this hole is bigger than the size of my hand.

What happened? I was scraping wallpaper in the lobby just outside my room. For the past 10 years, there has been a small bulge in the wall, after the plumber fitted the shower. It seems he damaged the wall in the lobby significantly.

I was aware there might be a problem on that part of the wall so I was extra careful when scraping the paper. At worst I was just expecting the layer of plaster to fall off, not chunks of the actual brick work. So glad I had a bandana tied around my face so I didn’t breathe in the dust!

    The Wannabe in the Weeds

Anybody seen this episode of Bones?

Don’t worry, I’m not gonna give away the plot.  What can I say except OMG!  Next week is the season finale and it’s going to be very interesting….

And yes, “Fat Pam” is scary.

    Some Good News

Got my results for my Software Execution Models exam I took a few weeks ago- B17 :D (where A20 is the best). Not too shabby!

I’m not sure whether I’m gonna get a B or C for the module over all though. I got a C12 for the coursework and it was worth 50% so it brings my totalt score to 14.5 for the module. Here’s hoping they round up…..

    Reinstall time

There’s something just not right about the way in which my computer is running.  Seems buggy and slow (Windows jokes please).  There’s not viruses or spyware on the machine so I’ve no idea why.

Apperantly, my C drive is dirty.  Not sure how or why that happened but it just is.

I’ve decided the best course of action is to format my HDD and reinstall XP (and possible Linux at the same time).

    We’ll see.

    Hey Y’all

If you’ve viewed my lastfm profile and think that something terrible has happened to me, don’t be concerned.  Yes, I’m aware that there’s an abundance of rap and hip-hop music there, but don’t worry, rock is still what its all about.

I bought an iPod from eBay last week and it was still full of music- rap and hip-hop.  Now I’m not really a fan of this type of “music” but I’m giving it a fair listen.  Not enjoying it so far.

Just who is “Shorty” (sometimes spelled “Shawty”) and why do so many rappers reference him/her/it?

    Peace out y’all
